Anaisa Franco creates affective sculptural works for public spaces. Her mission is to activate the public space through a playful and interactive approach: Simple moments of passing by are transformed into magical, sensory experiences.
Building on concepts of Biophilia, cognitive science and psychology, her pieces often reflect the curved and smooth forms found in basic life forms at the molecular and macro levels. An important element of Anaisa’s work is establishing unique connections between those micro and macro worlds, such as the iris of the human eye and the nebula of the Milky Way, reshaping the way we view the world we live in.
For her works, Anaisa Franco uses parametric design and digital fabrication, mixed with technology. Her interactive pieces connect the physical structural elements with digital realms expressed using digital lights, sensors and new materials.
She has a Master of Advanced Architecture at IAAC Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia in Barcelona. One year of M-Arch 1 at SCI-Arc in Los Angeles, a Master’s degree MA in Digital Art and Technology from the University of Plymouth in England and a BA Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts from FAAP in São Paulo.
In the last years she has been developing Artworks for commissions, public spaces, Light Festivals, Museums and Galeries such as Shanghai City Life Festival, VIVID Sydney, Annecy Paysages, Medialab Prado, Mecad, MIS, Hangar, Taipei Artist Village, China Academy of Public Art Research Center, Mediaestruch, Cite des Arts, ZKU, SP_Urban, MAC Fenosa, EXPERIMENTA Biennale Melbourne, RUMOS Itaú Cultural, URBE, and many others.
