Cecilia Paints is a professional, self-taught artist and muralist who grew up in the city of Los Angeles. Cecilia truly believes in the healing power of art, both on the individual level as well as the collective consciousness within the community. Cecilia has been beautifying city streets, residential properties, and businesses with her murals for over a decade now. She explores inspiration from her love of travel, animals, people, music, and her inner child. Cecilia’s colorful work is best known throughout Los Angeles, California and Mexico.
Cecilia started exploring drawing and painting at an early age, as her parents were strong supporters of the arts. Her childhood was filled with art classes, music, theatre and dance. Since she grew up in Los Angeles she was also exposed to art exhibitions at local art galleries and museums such as MOCA and LACMA. As Cecilia grew, her artistic expression and skill grew with her. In her teenage years, Cecilia became attracted to portraiture, fueling her passion further. She fell in love with drawing dramatic portraits; human and animal. At 20 years old there was a huge turning point for her artistic development when she was offered her first wall. This pushed her imagination to the next level. It nurtured her creative vision and was a catalyst in her artistic journey and career as a muralist. She naturally gravitated toward the use of a vibrant color pallet and soon after discovered and developed her signature style.
In Cecilia’s career thus far, she has designed and painted for major brands and companies such as Visa (for “The Super Bowl Experience”), Twitch, Estrella Jalisco, and Knotel, to name a few. Back in 2020, her mural of a local South LA hero for Estrella Jalisco, was featured on a news segment on “Good Day LA”, Fox 11 News. Cecilia’s art has also been featured on a 2020 cover of Downtown LA News Magazine. She has live painted at multiple events and displayed work at several different group art shows in Southern California and the Mojave Desert. In 2014 she had her first solo art exhibition, “Exuberance” at Stone Malone Gallery on Melrose in West Hollywood. Cecilia has participated in the Akumal Arts Festival in the Mexican Caribbean for 3 years now. She is passionate about connecting with the community and in 2019 she painted her first school mural in Akumal, Mexico for the Akumal Arts Festival. In 2021 she designed and painted another school mural at Hillcrest Drive Elementary in Los Angeles. Cecilia continues to build her expansive and colorful portfolio of murals and canvases while working with private clientele, galleries, local businesses, offices, and brands.
