Ellen Picken, a light sleeper and deep dreamer, creates large scale murals and intimate paintings. Her works give shape to dreams, describe the turning of the Earth, coincide with the cycle of a life.
"You are already creative with no effort. Do you listen to your stomach groan, your lungs push air into blood, your thoughts flow without end? Every life is inherently creative. Making art is just following along."
Ellen Picken lives in Spokane, Washington. She earned her BFA from Eastern Washington University. Her clients include Google, Adobe, Volkswagen, New York Department of Transportation, numerous architectural and interior design firms, private individuals and non-profit community groups. She has been painting large scale murals for the last nine years and co-directing art films with her partner, Rajah Bose, for FactoryTown.
