I am Michael Crowne and was born in Los Angeles, California, currently residing in Tallahassee, FL. As a child, I pursued my passion for the arts through the self-study of literature in various libraries. I surrounded myself with ample amounts of poetry, science, history, music, and theory, which gave me the space and time to hone my craft. As you explore my work, you’ll notice that I have adopted the style of leaving the eyes out of my subjects’ faces. This artistic choice allows room for viewers to interpret the subjects of my art. Some are recognizable as tangible objects or physical locations’ however, each piece holds personal significance and has special place in my heart. My style of art is called Dreamscape Surrealism. It challenges one’s perception of reality and encourages viewers to read between the lines. It primarily features clean and crisp formatting, making it easy on the eyes and simple to explore. The subject is seldom obvious at first glance.
