People Behind the Projects

Monochronicle is an urban art and design studio that transforms public spaces through collaborative creativity and innovative technology. We work with artists, designers, architects, engineers, and fabricators to deliver impactful, site-specific works that connect communities. Backed by our proprietary software for managing open calls and our extensive professional network, we have the tools and expertise to execute any public art project, from concept to installation, with precision and vision.

I created Monochronicle to make the public art process better, for artists, for administrators, and for the communities they serve. I’ve seen how broken systems waste time, money, and talent. Monochronicle is a “one project at a time” way of fixing that, focusing on data-driven decisions, innovative technology, and artist-centered design.

I’m driven by the challenge of uniting people around a shared vision and then making that vision a reality. With over a decade in live events and large-scale installations, I’ve learned how to blend artistic imagination with technical precision. From lighting design and projection mapping to lasers, interactive systems, and video walls.

Charles Alan Rye, Production Designer. Founder of Energy Science Unlimited, an event production company specializing in large-scale installations, production management, light and laser shows.

I combine my technical expertise with a passion for automotive design and innovation. What I love about Monochronicle is how it brings together art, design, and technology in such a unique way. It’s exciting to be part of something so creative, and it’s just fun to help the platform keep growing and evolving.

Alex Gurghiș is the Lead Developer behind Monochronicle’s platform architecture. With 12+ years of WordPress development experience, he specializes in custom WordPress solutions, PHP, and modern web technologies.
