Tony Stallard:
My works are site-specific sculptures, involving design systems that respond to the properties I discover when researching and developing concepts for each particular commission. I have a full working experience of 35 years creating public artworks. Through these projects have conducted research and development within architectural and engineering practices, and engaged in design collaborations with urban planners and councils in the United Kingdom, Europe, and for several years abroad in Canada and the U.S. A brief biography is available at: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_Stallard. https://www.tonystallard.co.uk/ I usually conduct further research and development with the interested parties on-site at a shortlist stage. To arrive at a thought-provoking site-specific sculpture to be structurally ingrained into the architectural location that has very site-specific links to the location and area using the main concept to drive the work. In the case of overseas projects arrange residency for the period needed for design collaborations, fabrication, installation, and full management of the work till finished where suitable subcontracting to local companies with myself acting as Project Manager making sure the project has the time allocated by myself in order to see it through. In terms of the distances would make sure all costs would be absorbed within the given budget both for shortlisting and the actual commission to realize proposals and put all legal permits and details in place to do so.
