Taylor Gallegos is a California-based artist from Colorado. Taylor received a BFA from Colorado State University, spent a semester abroad in Tuscany, Italy, and now is a painter specializing in murals, studio painting, and live art. In general, his work focuses on unity, connection, love, and creativity.
As a professional artist, his work has ranged from large-scale murals to portraits to abstracts in the studio to live art, mostly in the fields of painting and drawing with acrylics and oils. His work with live art has taken him on tour with musicians and has developed into a business venture in the world of weddings called Live Wedding Art. In recent years his studio art has developed a focus on environmental and philosophical concepts stretching into the Life series and through the Meditations and Abstractions series’.
Taylor is currently living and working in Southern California and is originally from Boulder, Colorado. He received a Bachelor of Fine Art from Colorado State University, and during that time studied abroad in Castiglion Fiorentino, Italy.
Taylor has been painting and drawing his whole life. This passion has developed into his current work as a custom muralist, creating large scale wall murals in different styles, for different intentions and causes. This work brings his skill set together with individual people and organizations to bring visions and ideas to life for all to see. His brush is the instrument that plays the tunes of people’s imaginations.
As a high school student, he began creating custom drawings for friends and family, mostly of sports stars. During his time as an art student in college, he started making some spending money by creating custom paintings for people, portraits of rock stars, and recreating photos. He did his first mural right after college for a local restaurant and loved the process, although it was a huge undertaking. That restaurant had a handful of locations so they hired him to decorate all of their interiors. It was a great experience that set the groundwork for lots of future paintings.
Thanks to a muralist mentor, he had the opportunity to dive into the world of mural painting more and more.
